The theme of this year’s celebrations is “Cooperatives Building a Better Future for All”. This year will be the 102 Ushirika Day. International Co-operatives Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday of July.

The theme aligns with the objectives of the upcoming UN Summit of the Future whose theme is “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow” which will take place in September 22 to 23 in New York.

The summit aims to reaffirm commitments to global cooperation, sustainable development as well addressing pressing challenges. The event also strives to accelerate progress across various domains, including climate action, poverty eradication and social equity.
