Bingwa to open Kitengela branch before end of year

Bingwa Sacco, one of the country’s most successful societies plans to open a new branch in Kitengela in the course of the year. Sacco Board Chairman, Cyrus Kabira has revealed.
Speaking during the Sacco’s 34th Annual General Meeting held in Kerugoya town recently, Kabira said the Sacco currently has 18 branches including one in Nairobi and has completed its feasibility study.
“We have already carried out feasibility study and the location is prime for business growth,” said chairman.
At the same time, the Sacco intends to complete its head office building up to the 5th floor and install a lift within the next two years to bolster its rental income. The Sacco members approved the establishment of an investment wing to enable them own assets inform of land, plots and houses.
Edward Nyaga, Kirinyaga Co-operatives Director said Bingwa Sacco has greatly raised living standards of many county residents owing visionary leadership.
Sacco CEO, Jane Mugoh said the Sacco was in the process of installing a new system dubbed Bingwa Nyumbani that would leverage the launching of Agency Banking platform among other online services in a bid to deliver better services to members.
The Sacco’s membership accelerated upwards from 122,810 in the year 2015 to 143,575 members last year.
