The Credit Information Sharing Association of Kenya (CIS-Kenya) has appointed Andrew Kioi Njeru as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
This was announced by the Association’s Governing Council, which stated that his appointment takes effect as from February 16, 2026.
“The Governing Council of the Credit Information Sharing Association of Kenya (CIS-Kenya) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Kioi Njeru as the Chief Executive Officer of CIS Kenya effective February 16, 2026,” said Dr. Gamaliel Hassan, CIS-Kenya Chairman
The Association added that Njeru is joining the CIS-Kenya at a pivotal moment in the evolution of Kenya’s credit system.
Njeru brings over a decade of senior leadership experience in Kenya’s banking and financial services sector, with deep expertise in credit risk management, regulatory compliance, policy formulation, and data-driven innovation.

He holds a First Class Honours degree in Economics and Mathematics from Kenyatta University, a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K). He has authored peer-reviewed research papers in the field of credit risk management, contributing to industry knowledge and best practice development.
As an award-winning credit risk professional, he has led transformative initiatives in credit information automation and bureau data quality enhancement, strengthening compliance standards and advancing responsible lending practices across the financial sector.
Under his leadership, CIS Kenya will continue to champion data quality and integrity, stakeholder collaboration, strengthen governance, advance advocacy efforts, deepen partnerships, enhance data quality and compliance frameworks, including ongoing work around the CIS ValiData tool and promoting financial inclusion through data-driven insights, particularly in support of MSMEs and underserved segments reinforcing its mandate of facilitating the generation and use of accurate credit information for the benefit of all participants in the credit market.
