Deputy President William Ruto (pictured) has called on Kenyans to join Saccos and embrace a saving culture to improve their livelihoods.
“Kenyans should embrace a saving culture by joining Saccos to be able to get loans to enable them initiate income-generating projects,” said Ruto.
Speaking in Eldoret recently, Ruto said: “I am saddened that majority of Kenyans have not embraced the saving culture. You should save even if it’s a single cent since it will benefit you in future.”
“The culture of saving is the only sure way for us to succeed and I am calling on all residents to start saving now so that they can enjoy the benefits of getting the loans,” he said.
He, however, advised those applying for loans to use them for the intended purpose as in the long run they will have to repay it with interest.
“I am calling on the beneficiaries of loans to invest the money in income-generating projects that will help them repay the loans,” the Deputy President said.
