Harambee Sacco has announced a fundraising meeting to help cover funeral expenses for its late Supervisory Committee Chairman, FCPA Joseph Owuor Yamo.
According to an obituary notice in a daily, Owuor passed away on June 4, 2026, while receiving medical care at Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Nairobi.
“It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of FCPA Joseph Owuor Yamo, who departed this life on 4th June 2026 while receiving medical care at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Nairobi,” reads the obituary in part.
The fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, June 23, at St. Bakhita Hall, Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi. Proceeds will go toward covering pending medical bills and burial expenses.
According to the Sacco’s announcement in the daily newspapers, contributions can also be made via Paybill Number 4815795, Account Name: Your Name.

The late Joseph Yamo was a distinguished public servant and accomplished finance professional and served in different ministries of the government. He was also a committed leader in the cooperative movement and championed accountability, transparency, and member-focused leadership.
He was described as a loving husband to Susan Akinyi Owuor, Beatrice Achieng’ and Sharon Awuor Owuor, and a devoted father to Bernard, Millicent, Beryl, Ivy, Adrian, Stacy, Nael Shantel, Eugene, Lainey Keta, Lesley, Nyssa and Ezekiel. He was also a proud grandfather to Liz, Esther, Valen and Mark.
The burial will take place on Saturday, June 27, at his rural home in Bar Atheng’-Got Osimbo Sub-Location, Ugunja Sub-County, Siaya County.
