Kitui to host combined Agricultural Show, Trade and Investment Expo in July 2026

The Kitui County Government has announced that the Kitui Agricultural Show, Trade and Investment Expo 2026 will be held from Thursday, July 23 to Saturday,  July 25 2026.

The announcement was made by the County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr. Kimwele Mbaya, during a press briefing at his office. Dr. Mbaya disclosed that the county has merged the Kitui Agricultural Show, Trade Fair, and the International Investors Conference into a single flagship event scheduled for next year.

According to Dr. Mbaya, the merger is part of Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe’s broader strategy to streamline county events and position Kitui as a competitive hub for agriculture, trade, and investment.

He noted that combining the events will create a unified and impactful platform that highlights the interdependence of agriculture, trade, and investment in driving Kitui’s economic transformation.

He added that the consolidated Expo will reduce duplication of audiences and objectives while improving efficiency, visibility, and overall value for participants.

The three days, 2026 Expo will focus on agricultural transformation, trade stimulation, and investment promotion across the county’s six Economic and Investment Zones (EIZs),Kyuso–Muumoni–Tseikuru–Tharaka EIZ, Mwingi Town and Environs EIZ, Mui Basin EIZ, Kitui Town and Environs EIZ, Kwavonza–Kanyonyoo EIZ and Mutomo–Ikutha–Kanziko–Mutha–Athi EIZ

The event is expected to bring together farmers, cooperatives, MSMEs, investors, traders, academia, government agencies, development partners, and other key stakeholders to showcase innovations, share knowledge, and forge partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Dr. Mbaya assured the public that preparations for the major county event are already underway. He urged Kitui residents, farmers, traders, cooperatives, MSMEs, boda boda operators, the jua kali sector, and both local and international investors to prepare and participate actively in the Expo.

The event is projected to attract a wide range of exhibitors, investors, innovators, and agribusiness stakeholders, positioning Kitui as a rising centre for economic growth and opportunity.
