Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives (Kuscco) will hold Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) SACCO Societies Act Review Workshop from 29h July to 1st August 2025.
In a statement, KUSCCO indicated that the workshop will be held in Naivasha town, Nakuru County will be attended by Saccos Chief Executive Officers, committee of experts and other Sacco leaders.
The SACCO Societies Act provides a legal framework for the licensing, regulation, supervision, and promotion of Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs).
It also establishes the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) to oversee these activities.

The Act aims to ensure the sound management and financial stability of SACCOs, protecting member savings and promoting their growth.
Last month President William Ruto assented to the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating of Terrorism Financing Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
The Bill amended the Sacco Societies Act (Cap. 490B) by empowering the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority to regulate and supervise bodies under its purview for anti- money laundering, counter financing of terrorism and counter proliferation financing.
