Owalo lauds Kisumu church for launching own Sacco

The ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eliud Owalo has lauded Nomiya Church for launching its own Sacco, saying that it will help its members to invest.

Speaking during the Nomiya Church Youth Convention in Kisumu, Owalo praised the Church for already raising Ksh350,000 and promised to contribute Ksh 1 million to boost them.

He urged residents, especially the youth, to take advantage of the opportunity to invest in order to grow economically and spur development in the area.

“Saccos are the way to go in order to grow your investments and reap from your savings,” he said.

While addressing members of women groups during an economic empowerment program in Migori County earlier, Owalo said that Saccos have been credited for assisting people at the grassroots level to grow economically not only locally but also globally.

He further urged them to consider applying for the Women Enterprise Fund and the Hustler Fund loans individually or as a group to boost their businesses.

He said the Kenya Kwanza regime has already come up with an economic blue print for the Nyanza region.
