The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has appointed Njoroge Wachira as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya (PPCK), marking a key leadership transition aimed at revitalizing the country’s once-thriving pyrethrum sector.

The announcement was made during a Board meeting presided over by Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul.

The PS described the appointment as a critical step toward strengthening the company’s institutional capacity and accelerating sector-wide reforms.

“This leadership change marks a renewed chapter for the pyrethrum industry,” said Dr. Ronoh. “We are already seeing encouraging signs of growth, and we must continue investing strategically to improve productivity and farmer incomes.”

Dr. Ronoh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to agricultural transformation, noting that the pyrethrum sector holds significant potential to contribute to inclusive economic growth. He called on the new leadership to embrace bold reforms, prioritize operational efficiency, and build trust with farmers across the value chain.
