SASRA guides 700 Sacco officers on new supervision system

The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) held a virtual sensitisation session attended by over 700 participants drawn from regulated Deposit Taking (DT) and Non-Withdrawable Deposit Taking (NWDT) Saccos.

Session covers new online renewal system

The session guided Sacco officers on using the new Risk Based Sacco Supervision System to submit 2027 licence renewal applications and annual authorisation information online.

Participants were taken through the process of completing submissions, uploading supporting documents and making the required payments.

System aims to strengthen regulatory oversight

The new system will provide SASRA with timely and reliable information to strengthen supervision, identify emerging risks and take appropriate regulatory action to safeguard members’ funds.

DT SACCOs are required to submit their 2027 licence renewal applications by September 30, 2026, while NWDT Saccos must submit their annual authorisation information by November 30, 2026.
