Governor Patrick Khaemba said the county would come up with initiatives that would sustain growth of Saccos.
He urged residents to form Saccos that will enable them access loans and grants from the County Government.
“It is through the Saccos that you will be able to access the tenders that the government has set aside for you,” he added.
Speaking during his inauguration for the second term in office recently, Khaemba said that his administration will organize, train and provide start up grants to societies targeting the youth and special groups.
He said that already Boda boda riders from Kiminini Sub County are reaping from the county’s support after the County Government pumped into their Cooperative Sh500 000.
He noted that among the active top Saccos in the county are the Trans National Times Sacco (TNT), Trans Nzoia Women Sacco and the Boda boda Sacco.
Some of the available Saccos are coffee farmers, Transport, Rural, Urban, Land Purchasing, Housing, Consumer and Investment.
