The total membership of Kivuli Universal Savings and Cooperative Society, based in Kisumu County, has grown to 810, up from 656 the previous year. According to Chairman Kevin Jaoko, the financial year 2025 saw the registration of 171 new members, including 105 women and 66 men.
Delivering his report during the SACCO’s 8th Annual General Meeting at Pap Ndege in Nyakach Sub-County, Jaoko urged members to intensify recruitment drives. He announced that incentives will be introduced to reward those who bring in new members, reinforcing the society’s growth momentum.

Jaoko emphasized the importance of saving, noting that deposits had risen by 74 percent—from KSh 13,018,530 to KSh 22,650,882. He described this as a sign of trust in the leadership and unity among members.
“If we can improve it to 100 per cent in the financial year 2026, then we shall have our share in the cooperative movement not only in the county but also nationally and globally,” he said, unveiling the SACCO’s new slogan.
The chairman reported that contributions reached KSh 10,055,537 by December 31, 2025, compared to KSh 5,194,331 in 2024, marking a 93.59 per cent increase. He said members who had not reached the target of Kshs70, 000 by December 31st, 2025, voluntarily directed the SACCO to transfer their contributions to savings or share capital accounts or Kivuli Housing Cooperative.

Jaoko noted that arrears had reduced significantly compared to 2024, when non-performing loans (NPL) exceeded KSh 14 million.
He credited this improvement to stronger financial discipline and the adoption of new technology. Jaoko said the SACCO acquired and installed long-awaited data management software, enhancing efficiency and transparency. Members can now transact seamlessly through a mobile app, enabling them to manage their accounts at the press of a button.
“We report with appreciation that the long-awaited Sacco software for data management was acquired and installed to enhance and improve financial management efficiency.” He said.
