Murata Sacco changes to Amica Savings & Credit

In a strategic move to widen its
business opportunities, Murata
Sacco has rebranded and acquired
a new name and identity,
aimed at establishing a new culture
of delivering services to the
increasing clients.
The change involved adopting
royal blue as the master colour to
symbolize stability, growth and
professionalism.
Murata Sacco which was started
by coffee farmers in Murang’a
county over five decades ago,
has been performing very well in
Murang’a and the neighbouring
Counties through its seventeen (17)
branches spread across Murang’a,
Kiambu and Nairobi counties. The
rebrand will enable the Sacco to
increase its footprint from a local
level to a national level
During the launch of the new
brand on 25th November 2016 at
Safari Park hotel, James kimani
Mbui who is the Chief Executive
Officer told the guests that the
Sacco plans to increase foot print
from local to national level in line
with the founders’ vision of ensuring
that every Kenyan gets access
to the Sacco’s financial services
to enable them improve their economic
standards”.
According to Mbui, the change
is planned to shed off the traditional
way of handling business and adapt new creative and innovative
strategies of executing services to the
customers.
Mbui expounded that the rebrand
not only involved change of
name and colours but improvement
of products offering, service delivery
and the overall well being of its
members as well.
“You can now make your payments
from your account through our
cheque book, deposit and withdraw

money to and from your account via
your mobile phone, as well as transferring
funds from your account to
other accounts including checking all
your balances. We shall soon be rolling
out an agency banking platform
and ATM services. We shall also be
introducing to you even more exciting
business opportunities and better
financial products and services
in the days ahead. Our commitment
to you is to offer you a helping hand
in planning your life better through
provision of financial advice and
solutions. In doing so, we shall be
forming lasting friendships that are
meaningful and mutually beneficial
to all”-said Mbui

Mbui stressed that the products
being developed will serve the financial
and investment needs of the
youth, women and investors which
are not adequately addressed by
financial institutions.
Amica board chairman Hiram
Mwangi Mwaniki added that the
Sacco will strengthen its operations
by creating right partnerships
and networks to empower clients
plan their business smarter and
live better from their gains.
The chairman expounded the
name Amica is founded on virtues
of true friendship and united in
core values of progress, growth ,
solidarity and stability
