Sacco launches E-Banking App

Kikuyu based Ndetika Rural Sacco Ltd (NRS) has launched an E-Banking App, an additional product to an array of services it offers members and customers.

The society says the new product will be handy in improving support and services to its customers which also improve efficiency to its clientele.

The Sacco unveiled NRS APP dubbed NRS Sacco E- BANKING that will enhance mobile banking and mobile loan applications and approvals.

The platform is a quick and convenient method for customers to access cash through mobile phones, to meet urgent needs and carry out daily cash operation as well as providing members with easy access to Sacco products and services.

Applauding members who turned up to witness the launch of the E- Banking App, Jane Kariuki the Chairlady of the Sacco said the Co-operative had attained a big milestone in making its services accessible to their customers.

“We are delighted to bring more services closer to our clients and you will now be able to use the platform to make any remittances to the Sacco via your phone anywhere at your own convenience,” she said.

The NRS Sacco E- BANKING android app is now available on Google play stores and members can download it and consequentlyvisit the Sacco offices to activate their mobile phones for the platform to be fully functional.

The E-Banking platform is meant to facilitate any member access immediate short term financial needs via MPESA.

Only active Sacco members can qualify for the service and they also need to be registered for E-loan and should not have previous loan arrears.

Members who already have loan arrears will be required to clear them first to be able to enjoy the new services.

The App is designed to support members of NRS Sacco with Micro, Small and Medium scale business to access affordable financial services.

Targeted services include Business, Development, Kilimo, Emergency, School fees, Mjengo, Micro, Chama Investment and Asset finance loans among others.

The loan is applied through the NRS Sacco mobile platform and the repayment period is one month with an interest rate of 10% per month.

“Approval of the loan is fast and is done automatically by the system and timely repayment automatically graduates to other amounts as well,” the Chairlady explained.

With NRS Sacco dream of being the leading financial service provider in Kenya and beyond, the Sacco is anticipating oppening two more branches in Rongai and Banana towns.

The Sacco was formed by dairy farmers drawn from Nderi, Tiebae, Karai and Kamuguga and currently has branches in Kinoo, Wangige and Nderi areas.

 NRS Sacco was initially known as Ndetika Rural Sacco Ltd, a name derived from Nderi, Tiebae,Karai and Kamuguga which were collection centers of milk. It was registered on29th April 1993.

Overtime, Ndetika was transformed into a Community based Sacco, with its membership defined by a common bond of being a resident, owning property or working in its area of operations.

“In the year 2011 it was rebranded to NRS SACOO SOCEITY LTD,” Elias Maingi, Chief Executive Officer NRS explained.

Maingi added that its area of operations is currently Kikuyu Division, but theywill be intensifying operations nationwide.
