Smartlife Sacco scales greater heights

Smart Life Sacco (SLS) formerly Marakwet
Teachers Sacco (MTS) is one of
the leading Saccos in Elgeyo Marakwet
County. It offers one of the best services
to its customers and has been doing this with
commitment since its inception.
Registered in 1995 after liquidation of
then Keiyo Marakwet Teachers Sacco, Smart
Life Sacco has grown in size, offering new
products and creating friendly products tailored
to meet clients’ expectations.
Speaking to Sacco Review at the Society’s
offices, the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO), Mr. Haron Biwott said that to reflect
a national outlook, the society has rolled out
new satellite branches to meet demands of its
customers.
He added that one of the offices at Tot in
Marakwet East Sub-County is now fully operational,
adding that the Kapcherop branch is serving the customers efficiently and has been
commended by members.
He said that the Society’s main focus is to
open new branches in Kapyego, Arror, Iten and
Eldoret to meet growing demand for its services
after it rebranded.
Biwott said that so far the Sacco has 15, 700
members, comprising of 3,700 from BOSA and
12,000 from the FOSA saying that they want to
grow the Sacco membership to 30,000 by 2019
in line with the current strategic plan.
“Serving our customers is our utmost priority.
We have developed a new strategy and
design to re-engineer our products to serve our
customers well.
The Sacco Chairman, Mr. Francis Kiprop,
said the Sacco is headed in the right direction.
It gives loans to its members at a lower interest
rate.
“Our Mobile Banking service is very efficient
and we will soon provide independent
mobile banking services in partnership withother mobile service providers for more efficiency,”
he added. The Chairman thanked
Sacco members for their continued cooperation
and wished them a Merry Christmas and
a Happy New Year full of blessings.
