Cooperatives and MSMEs Development Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has appointed eight new members to the board of the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA), with their terms taking effect on September 7, 2026.
The new team comprises Tobias Ouma Alando, James Kaburu, Wesley Kipkirui Siele, Margaret Gitonga, Timiro Adan Ibraham, Lucia Ndunge Kivila, Susan Nandwa and Adams Barasa.

The appointments were made under the Micro and Small Enterprises Act, which established the authority as a state corporation tasked with promoting, developing and regulating micro and small enterprises in Kenya.
Notably, the appointments form part of a broader wave of government appointments announced via a Kenya Gazette notice dated September 4, 2026. The same notice covered leadership changes across agriculture, science and technology, water, education and enterprise development sectors.
