Former banker calls for public, private partnerships  for economic growth

Rose Wambua, a former banker at Cooperative Bank of Kenya, has urged upon the government to partner with the private sector to create jobs and fight poverty.

Addressing women groups at Kawethei village in Kangundo constituency, Wambua said the private sector plays an important role in the growth of the economy and that job creation should be an essential part of the agendas of both the county and national governments since is the fastest way to alleviate poverty and elevate the living standards of Kenyans.

“The government must provide an environment that encourages entrepreneurship, innovation, investment and wealth creation to improve the people’s quality of life,” the former banker said.

She also encouraged Kenyans to plant trees as one way of improving the environment.
