The Sacco based in Uasin Gishu County, he added, is taking education as apriority by sponsoring students and giving parents school fees loans, something which will help to develop and exploit abilities of students.
“Education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world, we have made it easy for one to get school fees loan within the shortest time possible,” he said during the Sacco’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Eldoret town.
He warned members of the Sacco against defaulting on loans, saying they have already joined a Credit Reference Bureau to stop defaulters from borrowing loans from other financial institutions.
“Sacco Board opted to join Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) in the just concluded financial year. I humbly call upon the entire membership to take this idea of CRB positively. We need a dialogue based on mutual respect in order to develop professional, sound and value added services and products,” noted Rono.
The Sacco Chief Executive Officer, Meshack Maru urged the members to share their feedback on CRB issue as it’s essential in maintaining and improving the services offered.
He said the Sacco is focusing on becoming ICT compliant in its services; that is, computerizing of the registry records which is currently handled manually so as to cope well with the advancing technology and ease service delivery to members.
