Kakamega County youth have been urged to join SHOFCO Sacco to save and borrow loans with the lowest interest of 1 percent.
This was said by SHOFCO programmes manager Conrad Mulengero, youth from Budalangi Sub County while addressing 36 youth drawn across the Western Region, who converged in Kakamega town for a three day SHOFCO training workshop based on upscaling the youth through the sacco and improving their livelihoods.
The manager said that the main objective for the formation was to create job opportunities for youth

He commended Shofco for upscaling the youth and ensuring they get job opportunities and create avenues to them, receiving financial support both from the Sacco and the grants.
He encouraged youth to venture into skills than focusing in businesses alone as the sacco is mandated to enlighten them on how they can improve their activities for better income
He underscored the importance of skills, urging them to use the little resources to acquire the skills and upscale financial channels.
