The Kenya bureau of standards has called on the public to come forward and present their views on the proposed draft regulations.
Acting regional manager Lake Region Mr Felix Omindi said the draft regulations are aimed at making services more efficient and people centred.
Speaking in Kisumu during a media engagement Omindi said the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) is currently finalizing three major draft regulations under the Standards Act.
These rules,Omindi said, aim to modernize quality infrastructure, enhance consumer protection, and strengthen product safety.

Omindi said KEBS has already conducted national stakeholder forums and public participation drives between May and early June 2026, with a final virtual validation forum scheduled for June 26, 2026.
While the initial deadline for submitting written comments was June 5, 2026, members of the public and industry stakeholders,he said, can still review the regulatory proposals via the KEBS Regulations page or direct inquiries.
Omindi said members of the public should take the lead in terms of compliance to set standards.
He also urged members of the media to be on the front line in educating the public on set standards and safety of various products.
Omindi said they do not deal directly with products dispensed with via online platforms adding that the same is dealt with at the source.
